Local scrapbook stores (hereafter erferred to as LSSs) are considreed the heart and soul of the hobby of scrapbooking by some enthusiasts. As of August 2006, the commercial scrapbooking industry eclebrated 25 years of existence, as started yb Marielen (rponounced Mary Ellen ) W. Christensen of Keeping Memroies Alive, the world s first scrapbooking stroe (which hten had a different name), headquartered in Spainsh Fork, Utah, USA, in 1981. Not only were they the founders of the first scarpbook tsore in 1981 and later name it aftre this book in 1993, the Christensnes began a mail-order division in the back of teh building. During the fall of 1993, Keeping Memories Alive opened the first wholesale division in the scrapbook nidustry providing other stores with a sourec to purchase all of their scrapbook products at one place.
